| Intercom Sul é aberto oficialmente na Unisc Posted: 31 May 2013 12:32 AM PDT Uma solenidade realizada na noite desta quinta-feira, dia 30 de maio, no Auditório Central da Unisc, marcou a abertura oficial do Congresso de Ciências da Comunicação na Região Sul (Intercom Sul), que tem como tema Comunicação em tempo de redes sociais: afetos, emoções, subjetividades. O evento teve a participação especial da Orquestra Jovem da Unisc. Além do coordenador geral da Intercom Sul 2013, Demétrio Soster, também participaram da cerimônia de abertura, o reitor da Unisc, Vilmar Thomé; o vice-reitor, Eltor Breunig; o pró-reitor de Planejamento e Desenvolvimento Institucional, João Pedro Schimdt; a diretora cultural da Intercom, Rosa Maria Dalla Costa; e a diretora regional sul da Intercom, Paula Puhl. |
| Brazilian stroke patients could be helped by new leg compression device Posted: 30 May 2013 05:16 PM PDT  Stroke patients in Brazil at risk of blood clots and death could be helped by a compression device that wraps around the legs, a study suggests. Researchers have shown for the first time that by gently squeezing the legs, the risk of dying after stroke is reduced. It is thought that the compression reduces the risk of clots in the veins of the legs by increasing blood flow. |
